1. What Allergy Tree is
Allergy Tree is a software tool that lets restaurants publish menu and ingredient information, and lets diners check that information against their own allergies. Allergy Tree does not prepare food, does not inspect kitchens, and does not verify the accuracy of any ingredient or allergen data a restaurant enters. We are a tool for organizing and displaying information the restaurant provides, nothing more.
2. Restaurant responsibilities
By creating a restaurant account, you agree that:
- You are solely responsible for the accuracy and completeness of every dish, ingredient, allergen tag, and cross-contact tag you enter.
- You will keep this information current, and update it immediately whenever a recipe, supplier, or ingredient changes.
- You remain fully responsible for complying with all applicable food safety, allergen labeling, and health regulations in your jurisdiction, independent of anything shown in Allergy Tree.
- Allergy Tree shows only what you enter. A dish, sauce, or ingredient with nothing entered appears to guests and staff as "Unknown. Confirm with restaurant staff," never as clear or safe, and is never suggested as a swap.
- Your staff will confirm any safe-swap suggestion with the kitchen before relying on it or serving it to a guest.
- Allergy Tree is a supplementary tool, not a replacement for your own food safety practices, staff training, or direct communication with guests about their allergies.
3. No guarantee, no liability
Allergy Tree is provided "as is," without any warranty that the information displayed is accurate, complete, or safe to rely on. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Allergy Tree and its owners, employees, and affiliates are not liable for any illness, injury, allergic reaction, or other harm or loss arising from or related to a diner's reliance on information shown through the Service, regardless of whether that information came from a restaurant's own data entry, a menu photo scan, or any other feature of the Service. Responsibility for any such incident rests with the restaurant that provided the information, not with Allergy Tree.
4. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Allergy Tree from any claim, damages, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your menu data, your food preparation practices, or any diner's reliance on information you provided through the Service.
5. For diners
Allergy Tree is a helper tool meant to make eating out easier and safer to navigate, not a guarantee of safety. Always tell your server about your allergy before ordering, and confirm anything serious directly with restaurant staff. Never rely on a scan alone.
If a restaurant has not entered what is in a dish, sauce, or ingredient, Allergy Tree shows it as "Unknown. Confirm with restaurant staff" rather than as clear or safe. A dish marked clear only means nothing was flagged in the information the restaurant entered.
Swap suggestions are drawn only from the restaurant's own menu information. Always confirm a swap with restaurant staff before you order it.
How we handle your information, including allergy and dietary information, is described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continuing to use Allergy Tree after a change means you accept the updated terms.
